February 3, 2020: The Atmospheric Science Graduate Group presented the “Walter and Margaret Milton Graduate Atmospheric Science Award” to Shiheng Duan, a PhD student of Professor Paul Ullrich.Shiheng won this award for his outstanding achievement in the classroom and original research creating emulated hydrological models.The award’s research funds will partially be spent to purchase GPU hardware on which Shiheng’s model can be trained and executed many times faster than on traditional CPU-based hardware.Congratulations, Shiheng.
