Detailed Soil Maps

The maps included on this website use a Mr. SID county compressed mosaic of digital orthophotography and soil lines in the Soil Survey Geographic (SSURGO) data base for Colusa County, CA.  The maps were developed using ArcView 3.2a.  The soils lines were compiled on analog orthophotograhy dated 1983. The imagery was taken between 1996 and 2001. There may be a mismatch between the soil lines and the imagery shown.

The Index to Maps (View) allows you to select and display a quadrangle map and to select from a list of the map unit symbols on that map and display a complete description of the soil associated with that symbol. 

The quad maps you will see under Index to Maps (View) are not one entire graphic.   In order to make the maps display faster by your browser, we have divided the graphics in several smaller portions.  Even so, depending on the speed of your Internet connection, the time it takes to display a map may appear slow.  These maps are not to scale.

You will not be able to download a map as one entire graphic from those pages.
