Soils and Biogeochemistry Graduate Group Field Trip
Led by Professor Southard, members of the Soils and Biogeochemistry graduate group explored Death Valley National Park during the 2009 spring break. On the way to Death Valley the group visited several soils formed in alluvial terrace deposits on the east side of the San Joaquin Valley. Some of the highlights from the trip included stops at the “Trona Pinnacles”, “Titus Canyon”, “Badwater”, “Ubehebe Crater”, and the “Racetrack”.
