The Software License Coordination Unit would like to inform you that SigmaPlot 9.0.1 perpetual licenses are now available for purchase by staff and faculty from the Software Website, https://my.ucdavis.edu/software. There are several items to note before purchasing:
1. Although SigmaPlot 9.0.1 is available for purchase now, version 10 has been released by Systat and will be available very soon on the Software Website. If you need SigmaPlot immediately, you may choose to purchase version 9.0.1 now and upgrade to version 10 when it is available, or you may choose to hold off and purchase version 10. You will be able to upgrade to version 10 at no cost, as long as you upgrade while still covered under maintenance (maintenance expires on June 1, 2007, at which time you may choose to renew maintenance for the following year).
2. The file you download from the Software website is a .iso file. After downloading, you will need to burn this image to a CD in order to install and use the software. Please read the instructions provided to you after purchasing before installing because you will need the serial number and license code listed in those instructions (note: there will be a difference serial number and license code when you upgrade to version 10).
3. If you wish to purchase a license for a terminal server, after purchasing and downloading, you will need to send an email to software@ucdavis.edu with the name of the product, your ticket number, and IP address. The Software Unit will contact the vendor, who will supply a special license code.
4. If you would like a hard copy of the manual, the Software Unit has a limited number of free manuals for version 9.0.1. We ask that requests are limited to one manual per department. These will be distributed on a first come first serve basis while supplies last. Please note that .pdf versions of the manual are included in your .iso file and are also available online at http://www.systat.com/.
To summarize:
* The price per license is $150.00.
* Maintenance is included in the price for the first year.
* Maintenance will cost $51.81 in the second year and is subject to change annually, thereafter.
* Maintenance fees are optional and may be purchased for any number of your licenses desired.
* If you purchase a license within 60 days before the maintenance renewal date listed below, you will be entitled to receive maintenance for the following year at no additional cost.
* For any one license, the user may install SigmaPlot on any computer of which they are the sole user.
* The "sole user" is the sole user of the software, not the computer. So if you work on your home computer, for example, and your family uses the computer, you would still be considered the sole user.
* In a lab situation where there are multiple computers and multiple users, only the computers need to be licensed. Multiple users may use the software on any one lab computer.
