Info you should know before you print...
  • The LAWR HP Designjet 5500PS prints from media fed from a roll. Various types of paper are available, with currently stocked widths of 36" and 42". The final size of your printout is somewhat dynamic. Although one dimension is controlled by the width of the paper installed, the other dimension is defined during the print setup process. When finished printing, the printer automatically slices the paper and pushes the trailing edge of your printout from the printer.

  • Instructions for printing can be found  by following the links below.

  • There is a recharge to cover supply costs. The current recharge rate is $25 per heavyweight coated, gloss or semi-gloss poster. The charge isthe same whether using 36" or 42" rolls. Accepted accounts for rechargemust be 19900 or donor accounts. Exceptions for other accounts must be approved by your account manager .
  • You will need an LAWR computer account to access the printer. If you do not have an LAWR computer account, but have affiliation with the department, an IT staff member will be happy to assist you in printing.

  • It is strongly recommended that you print from one of the computers in 120 Veihmeyer Hall. Although the printer can be accessed via the network from many locations in the department, pre-print checks of the printer require that you physically visit the printer before printing. Printing from the location of the printer minimizes error and waste, and provides you with immediate feedback in the event of a malfunction.
