Health & Safety

Welcome to the LAWR Health & Safety website. All departments in UC Davis are required by law to provide a safe working environment for all employees and to communicate information needed to comply with UC/State/Federal regulations. On the campus wide level, the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is an invaluable source of information on all safety matters. Within the department, safety coordinators act as a link between EH&S and the individual labs and offices. All labs and offices in turn have designated safety representatives.

Illness and Injury Prevention Program:
Each administrative office and laboratory has an Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP) in place. All the components of the IIPP are contained in a maroon or other clearly marked binder that is accessible to everyone in the office or lab. If additional information is kept separately from the IIPP, that will be noted in the IIPP. If a work-related injury occurs, follow this procedure to seek care and report the injury.

Safety training:
Everyone – students, staff, visitors, faculty members, post-graduate researchers, etc. - is required to undergo safety training at the start of their employment, visit, or research work. Begin Safety Training
