Veihmeyer Hall Evacuation / Roll Call
Roll Call is taken at the evacuation site so the firefighters can search for missing people who might be stuck in the building.
The alarm system in Veihmeyer consists of a very loud bell and 4 manual pull stations in the hallways. There is no automatic fire detection system. Pulling the switch rings the alarm in the building and at the fire station. Evacuation maps are at the ends of the hallways.
WHEN THE FIRE ALARM SOUNDS
1. Turn off all flames and shut off equipment if needed. Take your personal stuff such as keys, purse and medication. Go to the evacuation assembly area, the other side of the road on the south side of Veihmeyer. (the lawn in front of Wickson hall)
2. Do not use the elevators when the fire alarm is sounding
3. Report to the roll call person, Corinne Gould, or back up person - Marie Boisvert. Stay at the evacuation site until dismissed. Further instruction may be given at the site.
4. At the time of evacuation, “Do Not Enter” signs will be posted on the main doors. Remember to take your personal belongings (car keys, medication, etc.) with you when you evacuate because you might not be able to re-enter the building for some time.
5. If you know of anyone who needs special assistance during an evacuation, please let Tony Matista or Corinne know so we can make arrangements ahead of time.
