What I need to know is what you want from this class.

Questions:

1) What upper-division classes have you taken that are relevant to this class, and/or important to your overall objectives?
- ideally I would like to know what you know (or rather, what you should know) so I can gear lecture/lab to your interests and experience. This is more for you than it is for me, if I hear nothing I'm going to assume you're all rocket scientists and teach with partial differential equations (just kidding!).

2) What software experience do you have?
- don't get freaked-out if you "hate computers" or if you don't think you know enough because you have geek friends who were raised by computers, just send me a list of what you know so I can gear the lab content.

3) What you want to do with your life beyond school, what interests you?
- this can be literally anything, but if you're only remotely interested in things academic try to give me something, anything, to go on in terms of specific topics (see "Table of Contents" below)

4) Tell me about you: where are you from? what do you do for fun? etc.
- anything goes here too. I'll tell you about me when we meet for the 1st time March 31st, and if you haven't guessed already I'm a dork.

5) Do you own your own computer? if yes, do you have software like Adobe Illustrator on it? if no, do you have access to a computer off campus? (like a housemate's or friend's computer)
- if you've got a geek friend, buym a 6-pack of Mountain Dew and ask him or her to help you with your computer (if it needs help).
